And, I might add, young lady, her understanding about the correct grammatical use of the term you're is much more lenient than mine!!! ;-)MrsC (Maryanne)https://www.blogger.com/profile/14440723067459232998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5024572182015008955.post-1928267247109684982013-02-09T22:41:07.477-08:002013-02-09T22:41:07.477-08:00I don't think Mum was ever that thrilled about...I don't think Mum was ever that thrilled about my experiments in the kitchen and sewing room, but she never withdrew the opportunities either :) We had a good system - I'd pin a pattern and she would check it before I could cut it out, especially for the whole 'pin on fold' type thing. It was a good system!
And, I don't think she ever paid, in the sense that I bought fabric out of money I earned, having started holiday work at 13 (probably illegal!) Hehehe, when I think of most of the 13 year olds I know working in an office, it's a bit mind boggling!MrsC (Maryanne)https://www.blogger.com/profile/14440723067459232998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5024572182015008955.post-37383794867393348862013-02-07T13:34:07.641-08:002013-02-07T13:34:07.641-08:00Are not our Mum's just the best! She always had a garment on the go, and totally encouraged me from an early age...Judithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16406164663751567997noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5024572182015008955.post-83752734535641289432013-02-06T10:55:56.595-08:002013-02-06T10:55:56.595-08:00You're mum is totally cool! You're mum is totally cool!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5024572182015008955.post-63630543619244415622013-02-06T04:44:13.090-08:002013-02-06T04:44:13.090-08:00This is lovely! Your mum sounds great.

My mum was my first step into sewing too, but she struggles to think outside the box, and was taught fairly old-school methods, so would never have let me risk expensive fabric (not out of meanness, just that she wouldn't understand why one would want to try!). She is very supportive of my attempts nowadays though (probably because she's not paying for my mistakes!).Helenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06525020848581000170noreply@blogger.com
