Christmas Segment 2 starring my Second Burda 7396 make!

Christmas Crackers and a quick look at napkin ring finishes. I finished this version of Burda 7396 at a quilting retreat in the first weekend of December. No time for quilting, me! :) I love it sooo much. It is a heavy cotton with 5% spandex. Normally a fan of more dramatic colour schemes, I still fell hard for this neutral water colour rose pattern. A touch of pintucked linen for collar and tabs.
Unfortunately it was the only make from that weekend to work first time. The other need fixing. I hope to post about them soon. Tooroo!

    So that's how you get those nice ends on Christmas crackers! Never thought of doing it that way, I'll have to give it a go. :-)

    Gosh, they make you get through a lot in a short space of time, don't they?! Impressive!

      Oh yes, I rehearse it several times to work out what it's important to spend time on. I tend to choose the winning tips, not the general construction stuff as that is usually self evident! :)

    Dear Mrs. C.,

    Bother! I don't think we can get those little snappy thingies here. Wonder if I can make crackers with some other type of noise action? Never had any idea how crackers were put together. The boys and I might have to try it, with parts of paper towel rolls.

    Loved the segment: you two really do have fun together.

      Yes I believe that the cracker snap thing has never taken off in the US. HOWEVER, given the whole thing of tugging them and whoever gets the larger bit wins the loot inside, they are still fun without the bang. And if the boys didn't know any different? :)

    I was at home sick from work, having a nap on the couch with the TV on and I woke up just as this came on and I thought, I know who that is! :) I made my own crackers on the weekend, so much more fun to put your own goodies inside than the store-bought versions.

      PS, I forgot to say, using the extra tube to keep the end nice was a great tip, I used it and my cracker ends are perfect :)

    I love watching these now that I found them, and this was particularly interesting, because the Christmas crackers are a foreign thing that I've always wondered about (well, ever since I learned about them :-).
    The Burda 7396 is obviously your pattern of win.

      Thank you :) And yes, it is very nice to finally have a pattern of win! I do have another Burda pattern cut out and not yet made up that may hopefully turn out to also be a win.
