What's happening on Planet C

Hi all, just checking in. Life has been busy with preparation for Christmas - stock, classes, new staff, the works. We are "putting Christmas out" which is a big job as it means making room for all the temporary stock. It seems too early, but makers being makers, we were getting lots of inquiries and I got fed up with dragging it all out of the office!
Sewing-wise, not much is happening. I am turning a tapestry into a cushion for a customer, and sewing silk tea bags for another (yes, really). I've been uncovering my sewing room from under a year's worth of STUFF being dumped in it (by me, all self-inflicted!)
I've tidied my cupboards, that's a start. Fabric sorted, yay!! Pile for donating to good causes, yay!

To what end though? Well, I miss sewing for me. This year I've made MrC three shirts, but for me only one Pavlova cardi. I have a few UFOs, a few repairs to make to garments I love to wear but can't - the usual stuff. And I have ideas in my head I want to make! Most for me, a couple for Constance. Of course ;-)
For me, summer clothes. I got through most of last summer on one dress only. I'd like at least two more, and I have the fabric. And I want to get my repairs done.
For Constance, I want to finish a mermaid tail skirt, and find a costume home for the glorious purple bling I now own...
...photo of amazing purple bling, dyed from turquoise salwah kamiz with iDye Poly, incredible stuff, even turned some of my 'diamonds' into amethysts...
...and I bought her some VERY tasteful red pleather recently. Ok, so normally the words tasteful and red pleather don't appear in the same sentence without the words NOT EVER. ;-) But really, after adding a bunch of bling to it, its current state of plain WILL seem very tasteful in comparison.
And here are a couple more publicity shots of Constance.
 We do enjoy a laugh!

  2. Ever a whirl on planet c, no wonder sewing time has been scarce! Love Constance's publicity shots, like Constance, I'm all anticipation with how you'll be using the amethyst beauties! Thinking bodice is the natural choice ? With black and a splash of red?

  3. Oh hurrah! I do approve of sewing for you! Especially when it involves amazing purple bling which is so not me but so you and so wonderful because of that!

I LOVE that image of you (I know it's Constance but I do see more of dear Mrs C than her in it!) laughing.

    1. Well yes, Constance is about 95% me, it's just the 5% is the stuff I hold back on, like maddo purple bling hehehe. I love that image too! There were lots more serious/flattering ones but I loved it :) xo

  4. Yes, more sewing for you and Constance! You need to look after your own creative energy! And red pleather sounds totally wonderfully HOT. I'd wear it anyway.

I love love those photos of you. You're so bloody beautiful you know! The first is my favourite but I have to admit I want someone to photoshop your eyes all flamey and evil in that second one.

  5. Dear Mrs. C.,
Oh, do wear your Constance hair in real life: it adds an extra layer of gorgeous!
Is that a Bali dragon I see in the purple and jeweled appliques? Ooh, up front and center if it is, with deep scarlet flames exiting its mouth and wreathing around.
Very best, and it all sounds good busy to me,
    Natalie

    1. I do curl my hair pretty often and do crazy things with it, including .large quantities of fake flowers. It is one of the best perks about not working corporate any more! :) But the dragon is in your imagination dearest. Pity, I really fancy the idea of a purply blingy dragon!
