Today I got some really exciting news. I can't share it yet, but I will do so soon as it is VERY exciting. But what I CAN share with you is my reaction. Stuck at home and having called everyone I can share it with, I was still fizzing with excitement, so what did I do?
I got down on my hands and knees and scrubbed my bathroom floor.
It has been bugging me for ages, but 20 minutes with hot water and some sugar soap and it is better than new. And I feel very satisfied!
Does anyone else react or respond to energising news by doing housework?
I wish I did! My house could definately do with it. Can't wait to hear your news!

DeleteUmmm Can't say I've ever been so excited I've cleaned the bathroom floor on my knees Mrs C but then I may not have had as exciting news as you've had. Hmmmm how long till I see you again????? I am isolated in my little house for 4 weeks and I can keep a secret.. Promise...
ReplyDeletehahahhaha! I'm with BeaJay...that wouldn't be my first instict! I can't wait to hear what your exciting news is!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell here's a clue: its not that I have a clean bathroom floor! heheh Although that is kind of cool :)
DeleteMwah mwah fabulous you! Exciting and cool are good and I wish you all the best. The only times I have an otherly compulsion to clean the bathroom is when I have had exams! Kels
ReplyDeleteEr, no, I'd go straight to the piano. But perhaps I SHOULD adopt your method - although it might be some time before we get exciting news!
ReplyDeleteTends to be my reaction to unpleasant rather than pleasant news, but yeah, I can totally understand excessive cleaning as a nervous-energy-eraser. I guess we should be grateful, it's at least a productive reaction :)
ReplyDeleteOnce in a while nothing is more refreshing than scrubbing the bathroom or deep-cleaning the kitchen. And refreshing, quite literally--my bathroom cleaner is eucalyptis-scented, and the kitchen is grapefruit! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd...news!?!? Can't wait to hear :)
No... I tend to dance a jig and cackle when I have good news. Then I use every electronic device at my disposal to tell everyone and their dog about it... One of my friends caught me doing this the other day and I believe she had always assumed I was 100% serious all the time. Hehehe.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on whatever it is!
Oh trust me when it all coems together, no electronic device will be safe! I suspect I'll be yelling into my cake mixer even! heehee!! (PS you have an inkling of it already)
ReplyDeleteHa ha... I'm with Lenora on this one! I do indeed use housework as a reaction to stress and unpleasantness! When it comes to exciting news, all cleaning accessories are abandoned and the corkscrew is at hand! Looking forward to finding out your news! BTW just to let you know that I nominated you for The Liebster Award today. I love reading your posts Mrs C and I am forever grateful for your wonderful comments on mine x http://ooobop.com/2012/02/25/two-awards-in-one-week/ :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Ms Oobop! :)
DeleteMy reaction is eatting! I eat in celebration. But, then again I eat to cheer me up, calm me down, wake me up, entertain myself and keep from killing someone I'm mad at. I wonder why I'm a size 18!
ReplyDeleteErk, I never do that, I got to be a size 28 through...umm...glands? heheheh
